HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS IN GENERAL
The monitoring system is a system that is able to receive data from sensors connected to the monitoring system to be sent to the Control Center so that the data can be observed or monitored by officers. The locations of the sensors are far from each other.
The data can be sent via media: cable, radio, and so on. In this system, data from sensor locations at PLTH locations that are far from each other are first collected to the Control Room (at the PLTH location) via Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology. After the data is collected, it is then sent to the Control Center in Jakarta via Internet communication (WEB technology). One of the reasons for using WSN is because it is not possible to use a cable network. Where the environmental conditions are very extreme (on the coast) and far apart.
·The device or module that is tasked with sending data from the sensor to the Control Room is called the WSN Data Logger Device or Module.
Advantages of WSN compared to similar technologies:
•Using 2.4 GHz carrier frequency.
•Low power
•Easy to install
•WSN (not IP Based) uses IEEE 802.15.4 Protocol.
•Low Cost
